Meet Our Staff

AMY BURNETTE  (Director/Owner)
Amy Burnette's love of dance and the arts began as a young child learning in her mother's studio. The minute she was old enough to assist and teach Amy was helping her mom with classes and choreography. To further her expertise, she attended Oklahoma City University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Performing Arts. Before graduation she had already secured her first professional job performing as a Follies Girl in Crazy For You at North Shore Music Theatre. During this time Amy auditioned for the World Famous Radio City Rockettes and became part of a living legend for 11 straight years.

Amy's experience and passion for the arts has lead her to follow in her mother's footsteps and create a dance and performing art's school. She feels like Jersey City is a thriving arts community but lacks a professional quality studio where children can learn and grow in the performing arts. Her developmental program builds confidence, self-esteem, & coordination to create a well rounded whole artist. Amy and her staff will provide professional quality instruction in a supportive, non-competitive environment to all levels, from recreational to professional.

JOHN W. RHEA Started performing at the age of 5 while training in multiple styles of acting, including studying under a student of Marcel Marceau. Having performed in over 20 musicals before he was 19, he headed out to get his BA in theatre from Pepperdine in Cali while pursuing his film career and acting in a few commercials and tv shows.  The chance to perform Improv off-broadway with the AGVA show Eight is Never Enough brought him to NYC where he has been performing in various shows ever since, most notably as the crazy scientist "Nitro John" performing wacky science experiments for tens of thousands of kids.  Favorite performance credits include Peter Pan Regional, The Jazz Singer with Metropolitan Playhouse Off-Off Broadway and The Letter "O" for the Onion Sports Network on Comedy Central.
Between shows, John works as a professional teaching artist at the top theatre camps in the world.  A jack of all trades; he also has been a technical director and lighting designer running a season of shows; worked for 5 years backstage at a professional roadhouse (launching a cat across the stage with John Cleese was a highlight); and tutored extensively in Math, Science, and Reading.  His favorite dance experience was as a back-up dancer for Ne-Yo in Times Square for the Kinect Launch.  John Rhea is currently the Studio Manager at Next Step Broadway.
